The sculpture, a pioneer woman, is traveling with  two children, one by her side and a toddler in her arms. She stands 4 feet tall, 19 inches wide and 16 inches deep. History The woman who came west to help settle this hostile land were the strength, the backbone of this country. Not all of these woman traveled by wagon train. Some were wives of business men, such as bankers, lawyers, shopkeepers etc. These women were more affluent then their wagon train sisters, traveling by stagecoach and still  they faced the same hardships. All of them traveling , with their children, under the most adverse conditions, most of the time wishing they had stayed in their comfortable homes back east. But come they did, bringing with them an inner strength, that they themselves didn’t know they possessed, until forced to call upon it. This sculpture is in honor of those women and all women with that same  pioneer spirit, for that spirit endures in the woman of today.
